RCIA
We are excited to share information about RCIA with you! Whether you find yourself on this page because you saw our signs around campus, heard an announcement during Mass, read something in our bulletin, or heard about this from a friend, we know that ultimately God is the one who invites and encourages you to take the next step in your journey of faith.
What is it?
RCIA is a no pressure, safe environment to learn more about Catholicism and share in engaging conversation with other people who are seeking to learn and grow in their faith.
RCIA?
RCIA is an acronym that stands for “Right of Christian Initiation for Adults." Although this program does serve those who are serious about joining the Catholic Church, the first period of RCIA, called the “Inquiry” period, is open to anyone who is honestly seeking and requires no commitment and imposes no obligation to join the Church. After 7-8 weeks this initial “Inquiry” period leads into a more intensive formation designed for those interested in continuing their journey towards joining the Catholic Church.
Let's Talk
We invite you to come and try RCIA during our “Inquiry” period and see if you feel God is calling you to continue your inquiry into the Catholic faith. There is no “signing on the dotted line” to officially become Catholic until Easter of the following year, so there is plenty of time to explore and decide whether or not this is right for you.
We usually host an information meeting in August, before the RCIA “inquiry” period starts, and we invite you to come and hear more about the details of RCIA if you are curious about things like what topics we cover, what does the rest of RCIA look like after the inquiry period, etc. If you are visiting this page after RCIA has begun for the year, please contact the Parish Office using the information below.
RCIA officially begins with the “Inquiry” period each fall. If you are interested in finding out more about RCIA, please contact the Parish Office by phone (303.279.4464) or email (info at stjoegold.org).
